She Believes

she sees them sometimes
just at the edge of her vision
all stealth and sinew
wings arched and at the ready
she sees them - at least
she thinks she does
catches just a glimpse
of supreme power and majesty


she sees them when she
watches the stars in
their nightly rotation
strange things these points of light
she sees them outlined
against the pale light
of the moon flying
she believes in dragons
