The following are pictures from our tour. You can read my trip report on Fodor's http://tinyurl.com/hnggy.

View of a canal in Ghent.

At right above, Sandy by a canal in Ghent.
A bicycle in Ghent. That was one thing that I would get to see a lot of in this trip.
Not being particulairly coordinated, I cannot imaging riding bicycles through these packed city streets, even if the bicycles do have the right away, you have these stupid tourists that consitantly get in the way like we did.
At right: Walking along a canal in Ghent.
It was a lovely day. So many beautiful things to look at and do.

Above is an oregano flower. Took this photo in our hotel's garden. Novotel Ghent Centrum.
I was standing with our guide here as he was talking about something about Ghent. I was too busy listening to this gentleman play his guitar on the steps with his dog.
A picture of the Namur Fortress on a very rainy day.
The Castle of Lavaux-Sainte-Anne
This was a millatary instalation that became an historic residence and nature reserve.
The first tower is said to have been built over a Roman road in the 13th century. It was not until 1450 that the castle looks as it does now. It has a dungeon and a moat. The water in the moat filled from the nearby River Wimbe.
In the 17th century a Renaissance gate and appartments were built in the inner courtyard.
There is a museum and a beautiful garden here as well.
Below are roses from the garden.
